Then, from 8:30 am, various political and social organizations and people from all walks of life paid tribute to the martyred intellectuals.

On December 14, 1971, two days before the final victory of the great liberation war, the Pakistani occupying forces and their allies brutally killed the country's prominent intellectuals in a conspiracy to demoralize the Bengali nation. More than two hundred talented children, including university professors, journalists, doctors, artists, engineers and writers, lost their lives that day.
